Hi, I’m Dr Stephanie Johnson, an accredited EMDR therapist with more than 30 years of experience helping people work through trauma, anxiety, stress and difficult life experiences.

I’ve worked as a counsellor, mental-health social worker, university lecturer and therapist across Australia and overseas. I hold three university degrees, including a PhD focused on depression in rural women, and I’ve trained extensively in EMDR both in Australia and the USA.

Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how many people in country towns and remote areas struggle to access specialist trauma support. Long drives, limited services and busy farm or work schedules often make regular therapy almost impossible.

This is why I created Remote EMDR Australia — to make trauma therapy easier, more accessible and more comfortable for the people who need it most.

During remote sessions, bilateral stimulation (eye-movements, tapping or auditory cues) is adapted safely for online use — clients may use simple methods such as guided eye-movements, light bars, screen cues or self-administered tapping under therapist guidance.
